Jiro was an engaging and informative guide for the Nakasendo Trail. He demonstrated attention to detail, and was ready to answer any questions we had along the way. The evening briefings over dinner were much appreciated, to provide insight of terrain, distance and weather for the next day of hiking. Learning useful Japanese words definitely helped navigating signs.. and toilet controls!

Our guide Jiro was excellent. He was personable, warm and caring. He took excellent care of our group and handled the diverse abilities of the group well. Jiro took time to give recommendations of sake breweries, shops etc to look at during our free time. He also provided pin drops on google maps for these places as well as toilets so we could find them during our free time.

Jiro was an excellent communicator and explained traditional foods and Onsen etc very well.

We had the pleasure of hiking 4 sections of the Nakasendo Trail with Nagakura Kenjiro as our guide via AusWalks. He is an expert hiker (and even carried my pack on the last long uphill of a challenging day!) He is also a gracious host – explaining Japanese history and culture along the way. I would not hesitate to recommend him.

Jiro went above and beyond to ensure we had a wonderful hike and experience.

He gave us a great insight to the culture and history of the area and Japan .
