Jiro (NAGAKURA Kenjiro)

Profile

After graduating from university, he joined the international division of a major construction company as civil engineer. Over the course of around 24 years, he spents 14 years working abroad, collaborating with colleagues from more than 20 countries and working on six challenging international construction projects.

In 2021, he took early retirement and moved to Nagano Prefecture, a place he had wanted to call home for many years. Since then, he has started his own guiding business for international visitors, combining his international experience and cross-cultural communication skills with his passion for the outdoors.

He has always been drawn to activities that allow him to experience nature from sea, land, and sky. Today, he enjoys exploring the landscapes of Nagano by bicycle, on foot, and by paraglider.

He is also a certified Dual Pilgrim, having walked both the Camino de Santiago and the Kumano Kodo.

Through his experience, Jiro aim to help our guests discover and enjoy the nature, culture, and history of Japan in a deeper and more personal way.

Miki (NAGASHIMA Miki)

Profile

She was born and raised in Azumino city, Nagano Prefecture. After spending nearly 20 years living and working in Tokyo, She returned to her hometown and rediscovered the beauty of Azumino’s nature, the warmth of its people, and the charm of its mountains.

Today, She works as a hiking guide, sharing the beauty of this region with visitors from Japan and around the world.

She enjoys creating meaningful experiences in nature, walking at each guest’s own pace. Whether you are a beginner, an experienced hiker, a senior, or visiting Japan from overseas, She hopes to help you discover a side of Azumino and the Japanese Alps that you will remember long after your journey.
